The non-governmental organization SAWA with its headquarters in the Morogoro Region, participated in the commemoration of the Day of the African Child in 2024, by donating food products and sanitary equipment at the Raya Islamic Orphanage Center that nurtures orphans and children from difficult environments, located in Lugono Village, Mlali Ward, Mvomero District Council.
Giving a message to children and society, the Director of the Sawa Bi Organization, Heren Nkarang’ango condemned the distortion of morals done through social networks, as well as the giving of gifts with malicious intent to children.
“Right now we have guests called TV, Smartphone, and Social Media there are strange applications that provide inappropriate content for children, children do not accept to be deceived, as well as do not accept gifts from someone they do not know or who you think has bad intentions towards you, and if this happens to report to your parents, teachers, and community leaders,” said Mrs. Nkarang’ango.
The director of the Raya Islamic Orphanage Center, Raya Subaha Maganga, who cares for 90 children in the center, thanked the food aid from the SAWA Organization.
Raya said “I would like to thank SAWA very much for seeing the importance of coming here to celebrate this important day with our children here, they and I speak the same language, I defend the children, and they defend the children”
The aid provided by the SAWA Organization includes 250 Kilograms of Corn Flour, 100 Kilograms of Rice, 50 Kilograms of Sugar, 40 Liters of Cooking Oil, one large Bag of Powdered Laundry Soap, and 10 bottles of Toilet Cleaner worth Eight Hundred and Ten Tanzanian Shillings.
The message of the theme of the Day of the African Child in 2024 in Tanzania says Integrated Education for Children, focuses on knowledge, values , and Work Skills, while the African message says, Education for all Children in Africa the time is now.
