The Loyal Media journalist, Hamad Rashid has emerged as the first winner in the Education Category at the 2025 Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT), 16th Edition, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to reporting on the quality of education, literacy, numeracy skills, and moral development in Tanzania.
Hamad was announced the winner among three nominees from different media outlets during the award ceremony held on the night of May 29, 2026, at Four Points by Sheraton New African Hotel in Dar Es Salaam.
He was presented with the award by the Director of Uwezo Tanzania, Baraka Mgohamwende. The award was accompanied by a certificate and cash prize as part of the motivation package for all winners.
