Minister’s call for farmers to join cooperatives

Deputy Minister of Agriculture in Tanzania, David Silinde has instructed the Cooperative Development Commission in the country to ensure that it motivates all farmers to join cooperatives to increase productivity in the agricultural sector while selling their produce through the warehouse receipt system.

The Deputy Minister’s arguments were given in Gairo District, while speaking with farmers at the SAMIA KILIMO BIASHARA EXPO 2024, which was held in Gairo District, early this October Silinde said that Farmers joining cooperative associations will simplify the system of access to agricultural inputs through their associations.

GAIRO District Commissioner Jabiri Omari Makame has asked farmers to use the education and opportunities available at this exhibition to change the systems of agricultural activities to increase benefits and production.

SAMIA AGRICULTURE BUSINESS EXPO 2024 is being held for the third season in Gairo District, agricultural stakeholders, farmers, pastoralists, and other citizens are exchanging experiences on the best methods of agriculture and livestock to increase productivity in the agricultural sector.
