Speaking to journalists in her office on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, DC Nguli mentioned the activities of Tutunzane Mvomero Campaign which also aims to create good relations between farmers and pastoralists.

“This campaign will use the private farms of farmers and pastoralists, plant pastures and drill wells, to overcome the challenges of conflicts between farmers and pastoralists, as well as this campaign will involve the production of the Sesame crop”

On the part of the pastoralists, represented by the Chairman, Mathayo Daniel has explained how he received the platform that will make the Tutunzane Mvomero campaign successful.

“We thank the District Commissioner for coming up with this idea, we ask for more cooperation between us and the Government so that we can educate the pastoralists who are destroying the environment and feeding the farmers’ crops”

The Chairman of the Mvomero District Farmers’ Association Maganga Kazumba said the program is good and will make it easier for them to have a platform to speak with farmers and pastoralists in the whole matter of taking care of the environment.

“I come from the Maasai Community whose are the pastoralists and most of them do not know about environmental protection, all these conflicts between farmers and pastoralists source is impact of climate change, it is important to continue providing education to the pastoralists who fail to breed productively so that they can protect the environment”.

However, the Mvomero District Commissioner Judith Nguli, asked for cooperation with journalists from Morogoro Region to publish content about the Campaign as well as encourage the production of grass forage and Sesame crops for pastoralists.
